Top 9 Reasons they Eloped!

The two of us!

I was so happy to find the photos from Louisa and Dharma’s Elopement. I had inadvertently opened two drop boxes. Didn’t realise it at the time Big shout out to Dropbox for sending me an email to say I hadn’t used it in forever…

So, here are the top 9 reasons they eloped.

1. Overwhelming

Louisa and Dharma moved to Queensland with their two adorable kiddies. New job, new home, a new life. Everything was shiny and new. Overwhelmed at the thought of navigating their way around the bustling Gold Coast to engage with wedding specialists until they found the perfect fit for them when all they wanted was to feel their love shine through in a perfect moment.

2. Costs

Louisa and Dharma, along with their two delightful little kiddies are starting a new chapter in their lives in Queensland. Establishing their careers, moving from interstate, even different wardrobes for them all. This was Queensland not Victoria after all! The cost had been high and while definitely worth move starting a new chapter didn’t call for a high price tag.

3. Two of Us

Love, the deep and personal love they share is something they wanted to enjoy with each other and only each other. Just being in the moment, gazing at each other. Laughing, smiling with no expectations. Being private and shy people, they knew deep in their hearts a simple Elopement Ceremony was to be the best choice for them.

4. Let the Magic happen

They wanted a Magical moment without all craziness.

No loads of people watching them as they shared their love and commitment. In the hearts and their minds, they saw a carefree day, arriving at their chosen spot together. Walking to their Celebrant’s arm in arm. Smiling and giggling. Being relaxed and sharing a very informal ceremony.

5. Surprise

Going home for Christmas as a married couple excited and thrilled them. Surprising their families would make a Christmas with a difference.

6. Celebrating with family

Both recognised the delight the family would feel when showing photos of their special moment – their Elopement. There would be a party, no doubt about it. Family and friends would gather, frocked up and ready to celebrate a wedding. For my loving couple, there would be no pressure just a lot of family love and sharing without the nerve-wracking efforts of the staging of a wedding.

7. The Ceremony

The wedding ceremony mattered the most to them. Listening to words of love written just for them followed by their personal vows of love and support, of family – the family they created in that special moment.

“Will you keep each other as your favourite person – to laugh together, go on adventures together, support each other through life’s tough moments, be proud of each other, grow old together and find a new reason to love every day?”

Spoken words of love!

8. Off the hook

No pressure to choose bridesmaids or groomsmen. Not having to make up “special” jobs to keep cousin “whosinfluff” and Mothers happy. Not having to choose, songs, cake, colours. You can almost feel the pressure rising. Not having to cut the guest list because of the need to cut costs. Who would be offended…?

9. The last and most meaningful

The most powerful of all reasons – it was what they wanted an Intimate and magical moment. Just the two of them.

Once you have decided on a wedding, an elopement or small intimate wedding you can start the planning.

Louisa and Dharma chose the beautiful rain forest on Tamborine Mountain to elope. With just their two children, our photographer Helen, who doubled as one of the witnesses.

Easy Elopements organised Helen and Ray (my hubby) to act as witnesses for the ceremony. Louisa, a fabulous florist in her own right made her bouquet. We were set to go.

The mountain didn’t disappoint with a magical spring day. Clear blue skies, crisp spring air provided the background for a very special moment.

All you have to do is gaze into each others eyes and let the words wash over you!

“Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction”

Love makes burdens lighter because you divide them

It makes joy more intense because you share them

Love makes you stronger, so you can reach out and become involved with life in ways you dared not risk alone.

Their promises and vows sealed with rings!

With this ring I wed thee

Sharing the love and commitment to each other, followed by a toast.

Mr. and Mrs.

Louisa and Dharma along with their delightful little kiddies spent the next little while basking in the magic of love, marriage, and family while our fabulous photographer Helen, captured their moments.

This is a moment to remember

Your happiness, your moments in life are about you and your loved ones. Choose carefully as you won’t get this moment again.

While you may not want the fuss and feathers of a large wedding and reception, doesn’t mean normal or boring. Two can have just as much fun as three or 103!

What do you want to look back and remember from your magical moment?
